What we teach:
Gentle Vinyasa Flow is a practice with movements that are slow, gentle, and fluid to create a session that is deeply nourishing. One pose flows seamlessly into the next in a relaxing sequence focussing on the breath.
Therapeutic Yoga is a branch of yoga which is focused on yoga as a valuable healing art and is designed to relieve clients' anxiety and pain while safely working with the body in ways that are both restful and rejuvenating.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga combines fluid movement with empowering asanas (poses) designed to strengthen the mind, body and spirit.
Prenatal Yoga creates an opportunity to bring more flexibility, strength and relaxation to your body, mind and spirit while addressing the unique needs of the expectant mother. Benefits include preparing the pelvic muscles, hips and legs for childbirth, improving balance and circulation, and helping the expectant mother process emotions from the increased hormonal activity. Most importantly, prenatal yoga helps you connect with your unborn child in a safe, tranquil, and nurturing environment.

Kelly Caraher was introduced to Yoga and Pilates as a compliment to competitive tennis and running. After recovering from a serious illness, her practice deepened and she was able to invite a more conscious awareness to the healing properties of Yoga and Pilates. As her mind, body and spirit grew stronger, she realized she wanted to share that deep healing connection with others. Her classes are both challenging and nurturing while fostering a holistic awareness and appreciation for the meditative flow of Yoga.
Kelly completed Shiva Rea's Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training program along with Power Pilates Mat Certification in New York City, Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training in Washington D.C., and Children's Yoga training in Baltimore, Maryland and Alexandria, VA. Kelly teaches Vinyasa Flow, Hatha Yoga, Power Yoga, Yoga for Athletes, Mat Pilates, Prenatal Yoga and Children's Yoga. Alongside her work at Rasa, she is teaching at a local studio as well as at Cornell University.
Jenny Chorba has been massaging at Rasa since October
2007 and is enthused to be teaching yoga here as well. Her compassionate relationship with yoga
began shortly after the decision to change her life for the better. She started taking a class at a gym in North
Eastern P.A. in the Iyengar tradition to help create more peace with in
her. She was fast hooked and was amazed
at how good yoga made her feel, not just mentally but physically and
emotionally too.
Jenny's commitment to sharing this new found peace with
others deepened. She completed a 230
hour teacher training program at Asheville
Yoga Center
in North Carolina
and is becoming a frequent attendee of workshops lead by Shiva Rea and Seane
Corn at Kripalu. Jennifer currently
teaches a vinyassa flow style class at the YMCA. She is delighted to share her joy and warmth
of yoga with clients at Rasa Spa.
Rachel (Shri) Bush came to yoga at the age of 19, already with sports injuries and very limited flexibility. Without her knowing it, she also came with a deep yearning to reconnect with her body. A strange thing began to occur after a few months of practicing: she not only felt better physically, but began a journey deep into the secrets and patterns of her body, and in so doing discovered a connection between her thoughts and feelings and the alignment of her body.
Since those early practices, she has become a dedicated student and teacher of Anusara Yoga. Included in her study of yoga is also the study of Ayurveda, which she weaves into her life and teaching with enthusiasm. She has been practicing massage at Rasa since 2007, and is available to work with individuals who are recovering from injuries or interested in expanding their body's potential. She believes that movement is the ideal compliment to body work, and can help us to re-pattern the way we live in our bodies and open the door to a more easeful and positive future.
